If the Marvel franchise made a film about the eponymous Pate Tate, this would be it. As mildly entertaining as it was there is not a single morsel based in fact. They portrayed Tony Tucker, a sociopathic, mindless nutter as a giggling buffoon and Craig Rolfe as his sidekick/punchline. With themes stolen from 'The Business' the film's only saving grace is Craig Fairbrass's brutal portrayal of a truly evil and narcissistic individual who had no regard for anyone or anything. In conclusion it's worth a watch but it's more a comedy than a serious biographical endeavour

Plot summary
Fresh out of prison, Pat Tate steps right back into his Essex nightclub. But still disgruntled, he soon sets out to Marbelle to revenge those that put him away for five years. While in Spain, Pat cannot turn away from the opportunity to score the biggest drug deal of his life. All he needs is for his Essex pals Tony and Craig to deliver the cash to Marbella to close the deal. But Craig, useless as ever, turns a simple plane trip to a massive road trip packed with trickery and danger. And Tony is more worried about making it back to England as he has promised to support his best friend Nigel Benn at the boxing match of his life. While waiting in Marbella, Pat proceeds with the violent revenge he has craved for years. Revenges are made and Tony and Carlton walk Nigel Benn out to what turns out to be one of the most tragic fights in history. But the drugs they bring back seems to be a bad batch and cause them more trouble than they have ever anticipated before.

A work of pure fiction
Why do Brits think non-stop swearing makes them tough?
Yet another Brit action film where every second word is an expletive. It is boring, old and tired. It doesn't make the character look tough, just foul mouthed. It's lazy and long had its day. As for the film, if you turn the sound off and watch, it's worth 4 stars. Volume on, 2 stars.
Execrable
MARBELLA is the fourth instalment of the execrable wannabe Cockney gangster series starring Craig Fairbrass and chums. This one heads off to sunny Spain for an otherwise aimless and predictable narrative punctuated by moments of grotesque ultra-violence. It's a film that celebrates mindless thuggery and despite being a fan of Fairbrass in general I had a hard time sitting through it, particularly in the padded sub-plot involving a couple of drugged-out morons roaming the streets as supposed comic relief. The script is among the worst you'll ever hear.
