Slow burn with some raw substance

My mind feels so strained... Lol From the very first scene, your mind is racing with thoughts as you see a man standing over a couple with a gun, then quickly scurrying away down the street to his home. From that moment, the mysterious story begins to unfold as you see many raw moments happening intimately in a linear timeline fashion from the perspective of the main character. The title is misleading depending on your artistic understanding, but realistically this movie is an ambiguous metaphor in a class of it's own. I love the 4:3 format and felt like it completed the wholeness and gravity of scenes. This film won't likely catch everyone's eye but this is a beautifully crafted project that was created with thoughtfulness and heart. Excellent acting is also worth mentioning considering it singularly follows the story of a family. This slow-burn may not have the initial eye-popping pizzazz, but deep down it is an obscurely vitalized story.

A compelling and intense relationship drama

Robert Machoian's 'The Killing of Two Lovers' is an oppressively strong and raw picture that relies primarily on Clayne Crawford's performance - You can feel the underlying tightness of his repressed rage. The majority of the film is narrated from a fixed camera at a significant distance from the protagonists. In some moments, the characters take up just a quarter of the screen, leaving the rest for the sky, mountains, and cold landscapes of the Midwest of the United States. This visual design allows the film to depict the tensions and anguish of a character who has gotten himself into an emotional mess.

The photography was spectacular.

I really like the kind of movies that make you feel like one of the characters. The photography was spectacular, I was captivated by that directional effect of the camera with focus and out of focus in the same shot, I think it gave the entire film dimensionality. Excellent work and I cannot fail to mention how excellent the music is, from the first 5 minutes I was intrigued by what would happen.
